ok this is just frustrating me...

ok well the other day i reinstalled my UV sterlizer. After that my skimmer stoped skimming. So i thought to my self ( this is a aquaC Remora by the way ) maybe it needs cleaning, because i havent cleaned it for 3 months, so i take it out and run a water and white vinegar mix through it for about 30 minutes. I do some scrubbing and put it back on the tank. Well its been 24 hours now and still... no skimmate. That water level remains the same with no foam, NOTHING!?. Do you guys think i really should be concerned for my live stock?. Do you guys have ANY idea whats going on here?.

AquaC's are really sensitive, I have one also, and sometimes it takes a while to start skimming after i've changed something in my tank. give it a week or so. your nitrates shouldn't increase to a point that your livestock would be at risk in a week.

I think depending on what your nitrate levels are at right now. If your water condtions are good, then they should survive fine until your skimmer starts again. If you're unsure, then maybe you should try and reschedule your trip to sanjose if you can. No use in making a trip if you can't sustain the acros.

Is the skimmer pump running at 100%? I know that sometimes a water/vineagr solution isn't enough to thoroughly clean bearings, etc. I disassemble the pump and clean all high tolerance areas w/ a q-tip dipped in muratic acid, rinse well, reassemble and boy do my pumps run better.
