Actually, I added ad additional powerhead behind the false wall in addtion to the normal return pump. So now there is actually two return pumps.
The second return pump is then plumbed with some parts picked up at Lowes and splits to two exits at the top and comes up over the top of the overflow wall. I think it looks nice and is not real noticable where it comes over the top of the wall. Much better IMO than a powerhead in the tank. I should note it is ran on a time (not on 24/7) and I have not noticed any temp increase...

I will get a pic of the PH mod tonight and post.
I'm putting an Aqua C remora on it hopefully tonight, I will see If I can take a pic once it gets on. It should look pretty descrete based on the look of the skimmer and plan to put it. Dang! I thought for sure the "my wife's choice" line would fool you guys on the Teddy Bears... too smart around here ![]()

HMikie,
So just to get this right, you ditched the original hood, and put on new light/fix. Can you tell me where you got it and was it ready to go, no mod? Ph went where bio balls were. Did you leave blue sponge media? Where do you plan to mount remora? I'm thinking of a coralife 65 skimmer, are you familiar w/ that and think it would fit? Sorry all the Q's, trying to help a friend w/ 24 pod A bigger tank sounds so much easier ( for me anyway) Thanks

can you tell me what the exact outside height of the tank is (not including light), and also what the total overall height is with the light attatched. I have a spot at work that i believe will be a perfect fit but would like to know for sure before I place my order
Thanks, Krys |

Dav,
The model I purchase included the lighting you see. They make the PC hood style that sits directly on the tank, or the model I have which has: *a fan cooled all internal HQI metal Halide *6 white moon lights *6 blue moon lighs *3 Independent Light switches *Mounting Legs *Glass top (goes from front to front of overflow wall) *Optional Pendant style hanging hardware included Available in 70W (which I have) and 150W The back over flow area is split into two sides. Right Side (looking from front) Venting Overflow *2 Blue Sponges (vertically Stacked) *Bio Balls (removed) *Ceramic Media in Bag (removed) **Where I added Heater **Where I plan to add Remora (maybe removing Sponge(s)) Left Side *Directional Return Spout *Return Pump ** This is where I added additional PH/Return You could probably easily add the CSS65 as long as the pump supplying it fits behind the wall. The Remora I have is going to use a MJ1200 which I know will fit. The widest part behind the wall is roughly 6". I just felt like the Remora would give a nicer cosmetic look on the outside. I will get meas. later... |
