CA reactors are simply a chamber filled with araginite where tank water runs through and C02 is injected. The C02 drives down the PH desolving the media in the reactor, then is offgassed before reaching your tank. The media desolving releaces CA, Alk and a host of other things.

Kalk reactors simply saturate the fresh water (topoff) moving through the reactor with kalk (pikling lime).

The short version anyway,
Whiskey

Basically here they are in a nutshell,

Calcium reactors: saltwater is injected with CO2 creating carbonic acid which is then pumped through a chamber that contains argonite the acid dissolves the argonite saturating the water with calcium which is then dosed into the aquarium at a controlled rate.

Kalk reactor: Kalkwasser is dissolved into a chamber with an agitating pump or agitating stick the resulting lime water which is high in calcium is dosed into the aquarium at a controlled rate

I just recently bought myself a Life reef CA reactor and don't have much of an idea of how to set it up. What is the best way to hook one up and why?
