new idea for lighting 29!
my 29 is a softie reef roght now, 65 watst pc in a satelite fixture.
i want a mixed mainly sps and lps reef, so im savign up for a coralife aqualight pro hang on tank, with a DE 14k bulb. i am gogin to get an actinic bulb for my PC, put it in the fron of the tank, the clip the halide on back. the light period will be 8am the actinic comes on, halide is on from 12-6 then actinics back on from 6-10 at night, moonlight is on until 8 am! i plan on soem LPS, monti aps, some acros adn mayeb a clam any ideas help! btw tank has great water quality salinity-1.024 nitrate-0 nitrite-0 ammonia-0 ca- no test kit yet, gettign one soon PH-8.3 alk-9KH im gettign a maxijet for flow, adding a CSS 65 soon, i haev 2 HOB filters 175 gph each, one is carbon and rubble, other is a fuge with rubble and cheato adn a light! |

You're not going to have room for both of those on a 29gal. tank. Half of the halide will be shining down on the top of the PC fixture and it'll create a big shadow in the front of your tank. I have a 30" Sunpod halide fixture on my 29 gal. You'd be much better off saving up for one of those. Only about a $50 difference at Marine Depot.

ill see how it does with both on before i get the actinic bulb, if not then i wont use the actinic, actinics are meerly for viewing, i know they dont provide photosynthetic energy.
