Sixline wrasse missing.
Well, I added a new sixline wrasse to my tank this morning. He's been swimming around most of the day and seemed like he was looking for a spot to call "home". I now cannot find him. I have a canopy so he could not jump out. I've checked every single angle I could have and still have not found him. I have checked my overflow and sump, he's not there. I fear he may have swam into my Anenome... since my Aneneme does look like he's closed up a bit.
I just hope he went out hiding under a rock somewhere. I'm wondering if this is common behavior for wrasse when newly introduced to a tank? |

It wouldnt be uncommon for him to hide for awhile, days to weeks. If you dont see him when you feed in the next day or 2 i would worry then. Its a little early now.

I've seen my 6-Line and my buddies acclimate and both didn't hide ... mine does however sleep in a rock he's designated. I wouldn't put it past the anenome because it's opportunistic however I don't think a 6-Line is stupid enough to swim into one. If he's not out during feeding ... well : \ ... 6-Line's don't usually miss out on food. Good Luck!

They can hide very well. So if you have a canopy, I'd feel ok.

Actually six-line wrasses are known to hide in rockwork. Mine swims in and out of the rocks all day. He is probably just hiding. Mine gets into the smallest holes in the rock, it is amazing tha the hasn't gotten stuck yet.

A lot of wrasse are also known to form a "cocoon" when they "sleep", it is their form of protection at night to not get bothered. It is probably still a little stressed out from the move. Just give it a couple days an he should be out in full. If not then I would think that the anemone might have played a role in this one.
