umm How do you change the water?

I just got my 90gal tank and I am in the Process of collecting equipment. Now it must seem stupid to ask such a question but how the hell am I supposed to transfer 90 gals of R/O water into my tank when I do a water change because I don’t think the suction method is really going to work.

I filled up my 75 gal with RO/DI H2O directly from my Spectrapure unit. Then I mixed in the salt, and then let it age with some powerheads for a few days. Then I siphoned it out (so I could add my sand and LR) into two 35 gal El Cheapo rubbermaid storage containers (from Target). Then, when I was ready to get the water back into the tank, I found a small powerhead that fit my nylon tubing and used it to pump the salt water back into my tank.

A small powerhead or pump can be used to transfer water or you can use 5 gallon buckets/water jugs.

...one coffee cup at a time! Lol. I use an MJ1200 to pump fresh RO saltwater from a 10 gal rubbermaid into the sump while siphoning into another 10gal tub from the display tank. Works well, can do a 10% change in about 10 minutes.

It seems that everyone uses rubbermaid bins to transfer water into the tank.

Wait a minute, I'm confused. Are you talking about when you fill the tank up for the first time or weekly water changes? Maintenance water changes are usually only ~10% weekly.

I filled my tank originally and again while doing water changes by connecting some hose to a powerhead and pumping it in as most (many) people do. Works great
