Tiny white bugs on glass

I now for some reason have hundreds of what looks like pencil lead sized of what to me looks like white mites on the glass. They move around quite fast, and some of them are starfish shaped and are just big enough to count eight legs on them.Any idea of what they are? Or do I have a infestation? I would take a pic but i think they are to small to show up.

they are pods, little rice grain sized bug thingies. they are totally normal residents of healthy aquariums. fish like gobies, wrasses and mandarins eat them. a perfectly normal part of your tanks ecosystem, you need not worry. as for the starfish thingies i'm not quite sure from what your description what they could be. are they cesile or do they move about aswell?

the ones that move are probably copepods. may be isopods take a look here http://www.melevsreef.com/id/ look under pods, and the jellyfish(incase the ones you can count the legs on are jellyfish) sections for some pics.

Thanks guys, I was a little worried for a while. The body on the ones that look like starfish are about the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen with seven legs. I tried to get a pic but my camera sucks and wont show it even under four times magnafacation.

the ones djbxstream pic'd are hydroid jellyfish. they are harmless, and will disapear on their own in time. but they dont move around much, if any. if you have some other "bugs" that dart around those are probably copepods, or atleast some kind of pod.
