Where did you get it? It looks like an LTA, I had an LTA and it kinda did the same thing and ended up dieing. What are your tank perams? Was it healthy looking when you got it?

when anemones die they turn themself insideout. it looks like yours may be on its way out . your nitrate is to high try a waterchange and see if that helps.

Simliar experience...

When I got my anemone he was fine, then after a week looked far worse than that - no tentacles, floating near surface, shriveled up to nothing, color brown/green for and RBTA etc. He looked like that for about a week and I was going to toss em. He looked that bad but kids distracted me. Next day he was 100% fine - looked better than ever. I've posted this about 4-5 times just to make sure people don't pull the trigger too early. I swear mine was a total goner.

I've read many times that if they smell horrible its time to toss. Apparently the smell is unmistakable and you'll know it when you smell it.

I can't say with any authority that yours will pull through - just wanted to relate that mine looked far worse and did recover.

I was told the same thing. Just leave it alone and it will eventually adjust to its surroundings.

That last set of pics doesnt look good, the gaping mouth is really bad. The nitrates are way to high ( although the fault is more than likely shipping and handling before you got it ). Check out the very bottom center of the base for a hole. You can leave it in to see what happens, but as soon as it begins to desintrigrate get it out. It wont directly poison your tank but the bacteria munching on the dead tisue and producing ammonia will.

Your nitrates are too high, and have you tested ammonia? Do a 25% water change, make sure there is moderate water flow and moderate lighting (anemones don't like as much light as corals). May be silly question, but have you fed it? If not, see if you can target feed it a small piece of prawn or silverside, using forceps. Don't give up whilst there are still some tentacles inflated. If they all shrivel, remove it ASAP with a fish net.

Most anemones are found in shallow water environments, and there is no doubt they love bright light. They can be maintained in less than adequate lighting situations but require more food to sustain them. LTAs are especially bright light lovers and should not be kept under anything but T5 or MH.
