I have a cube 24x16x24 and what to do some sps and clams.

can I do this with t-5's? sunlight sells a 24" 4 bulb 24w setup.

Is that enough lighting?

why not retrofit? while the tek light may be less than tek retros, the retros have waterproof endcaps, the teklight does not.
als, with retrofits, you can choose a better reflector than the tek, and get more par for the basically the same money, if not less than the tek light.

Yes, it's enough lighting. Like horkn stated, the endcaps aren't waterproof. Might want to consider making an acrylic shield (very simple thing to do.)

I wouldnt bother with T5 for such a short tank. I use a 60g cube, and the amount of 24" T5s I would have to use would cost enough (bulbs are so close price for 2' or 4' that 2' ers should be used sparingly or its not worth it) to light a 120g. For this reason, I still use a single halide pendant on the 60g...a 400wattHQI 14,000K in a lumenarc3. I would go with a single 250wattDE haldide pendant.

Well, I have a retro on my 120 and I love it.

The thing about my cube is, I don't want a hood so.. I was thinking of a real nice pendant. I was going to get a MH250 but I like the flexabilty of the t-5's.

With a 4 bulb unit, I can kinda do a dusk and dawn.
