3 dollars is highway robbery. We sell it for 50 cents a gallon for fresh RO/DI and $1 gallon for salt. Look into www.airwaterice.com for the typhoon III. You might as well and go ahead and buy a good unit you will need it for top off and water changes anyway.

I've had good luck with both airwaterice.com and buckeyefieldsupply.com

3 bucks a gallon is very high hopefully it was a misprint

Holy cow, that's rediculous. Get your own filter, it's well worth it; it'll pay for itself very quickly. I got a six-stage RO/DI filter with TDS and PSI meters for $115 + shipping on eBay. The company I bought from is one of the major 'power sellers' of these filters and they seem to always have multiple units for sale, both RO and RO/DI, often with free meters.

First of all, that is utterly ridiculous. You could buy an overpriced RO/DI from a vendor that charges you more for the brand name sticker, than they do the unit itself. I have a LFS that sells pre-mixed saltwater, & they dont charge half that.

purelyh2o.com will set you up with a kit to suit your needs. Bryan is a RC supporter, & a hell of a good guy to boot. Check out his forum on here, or his web page. He actually suggests that you call him for help or questions on picking a unit to suit your needs. You really cant go wrong with this guy. I was on the verge of picking up an ebay unit & I found purelyh2o from fellow reefers on here, & I am glad I took the time to follow up on it.

ro

30 cents a gallon in the midwest. Go to lowes or home depot (or whatever the local DIY center is) and pick up a kit, what you will spend in one tank fill you can buy on of those systems

get a filter from purelyh2o and never look back. great products and great costomer service. i have both the ebay rodi and the purelyh2o and take my word the ebay filters are junk compaired to purelyh2o's systems. save money and buy a good quality filter from the start

I'm very happy w/ my purelyh2o RO/DI unit also. Here it is.

I also got the 3 gallon bladder and kitchen sink spigot. My family and I drink RO water and my reef tank gets the RO/DI water. (yeah, my tank gets the best water =) that's how it should be ... right?).

I don't have to worry about "Boil Water Notices" anymore. And I love drinking RO water.

It's a great purchase for your tank and your family.

cheers,

layne

I go to my local super market and they have a machine outside that sells RO water, for .3o cents a gallon or 1.50 for 5 gallons. That seems like highway robbery to me for that kind of price...

Once I move into our house I will be installing a RO/DI unit though, as their is many more uses from it than just your fish tank.
