Actually the LFS might be as competitive as mail order due to the cost of shipping 72" bulbs.
BTW... thanks for the frag of my dreams. SteveU

i believe someone on ebay gives free shipping if you order 6 or more bulbs, so if you want to plan ahead you might make out on that.

I buy mine from a lfs. Im scared if I have 72" bulbs around the house they will get broken. Its a lot of glass and my house tends to munch things.

I use 60" bulbs and the last two times the LFS beat online vendors due to shipping costs. Unless you can meet the onlines minimum number of bulbs either in a group buy or by yourself LFS is the way to go.

I ordered VHO's from Drsfostersmith.com with another oder I was doing anyway. the surcharge on shipping was $7. They were $37 each. The LFS wanted $59 each. So still much cheaper to ship them at least for me - they arrived in great shape and packaged very well. I'm sure they would replace if there was a problem with shipping for some reason.

Try Tony at www.reefexotics.com - he does free shipping with 6 bulbs and has good prices and excellent customer service.
