staghorn coral put on "threatened species" list
in the local paper today, there is an article saying that elkhorn and staghorn (acropora) have been put on the threatened species list. i thought elkhorn was already threatened but i did not know about staghorn. they have apparently suffered a 97% decline in areas around the Florida Keys. it says they will hold meetings to discuss new rules & regulations to protect the corals. i guess there is no way to know how this could affect us and the hobby as of yet....? just thought i'd let people know....

Being caribean species, it should not effect the hobby at all. AS stated they are and have been for sometime illegal to collect or possess.

Try googling it. Very commonly photographed coral.

I had a coral in one of my old tanks that looked very much like cervicornis...I got it from a LFS. Tell me what you think. This is the best picture I could find. I lost the coral when my tank broke a couple of years back.
