can maxi-jets go on a wavemaker?

Or is it only SEIO's that can do that?

It's the Seio's that can't go on a wavemaker. The MJ's actually have a soft start feature that is made for wave makers.

Yeah, the maxijets are the ones that are recomended for the wavemaker. I have 3 400's but I tried a single seio 600 just for fun and it raddles everytime it started, ANNNNNNNNNOYING............... Damn keyboard sticking again.

What exactly is the maxi-mod? I like my setup and I use the 4rth plug on the wavemaker as my mane pump so when I press the feed button the main pumps kicks off so the food doesn't go into the sump and power head #2 keeps going for food circulation.

its a modded maxijet-- converted to propeller type stream pump (like the Seio/tunze)-- really boosts the flow (although the amount is difficult to measure).. I've never tried it...

Thread is in the Do It Yourself section..

Sounds like a great idea! I would only think it would work since a "stock" one is recommended I can't see why the modded one wouldn't work...

maxijets are suitable because they have a metal impellor shaft, not ceramic like most other shafts...
