Broken nano cube

My wife was given a nanocube, she was really excited about it. The problem is it has a small crack at the top of the tank. I think I can remove the piece and glue it, but I don't know what to glue it with. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It depends on how much pressure will be on the piece. If it just needs to be held firmly, I'd recommend silicon. If there will be a lot of pressure against it, I don't know what to recommend. Some sort of epoxy, I suppose.

if it's not in too visible/curved of a spot you could try using a larger piece of plexi-glass to brace it(maybe even on both sides) and use epoxy to stick it and add some silicone sealant around the edges... (shrug) just an idea...

It's acrylic and the crack it on the top so very little pressure and it won't be to visible does any one know any thing about bonding acrylic?

for arcylic... you want to get: Weld-On #3

they have a whole series of numbers.... just indicates how quickly it dries...#3 needs to be held in place for a couple of minutes and about 30min to dry....

not to sure where to get it..... hardware store maybe

its a chemical that is fish safe..... it will actually melt the edges together.... make sure to not glob it on... put down nice small even amounts of it

A nano cube is Glass.

The weld-on works great on acrylics. I us weld-on 4 its pretty thin, 16 should work ok for you case and you can get it from most plastic fabricaters look up in your phone book.

Yeah, I work with nanocubes every single day. There isn't a such thing as an acrylic JBJ nanocube. You may want to consider finding an online dealer to sell you just the tank only as a replacement. I'm not sure I'd trust it if it's already broken. JMHO.

if the crack is in a spot that you wont see then why not get get some acrylic/glass and bond it eaither side of the crack?

or remove and replace the cracked peice.

if it can be fixed cheaper than buying its worth fixing.
