drain/overflow size calc

Quick question:

If you get a figure such as 15 inches for the linear overflow size what does that mean? I assume this is referring to the total distance of the notches that allow water to drain from the main display area of your tank, but I am not certain and need some clarification.

Bumping your own thread takes you off the unanswered list.

I thought that the length just referred to the length of the notched area, assuming the notches were about half of the total length. I'll take another look.

I checked around a bit, and my interpretation seems to be a common one.
