Question lights ...lights???? anybody

looking to know some info on how to time the lights I have a power compact w/65k actinic and 10,000 white light and moon lights in a 75 gallon tank do the need to be timed to run at difrent times?

Its usually good to have the Actinics turn on an somewhere between 30 mins to 1 hour or so before the 10K's, then they should both run throughout the day, the 10K's should turn off 30 min-1hour before the Actinics turn off. The moonlights you can turn on when you want at night, or just time them to run for a while after the Actinics turn off. -Ross

I have read that it's preferred to run actinics from around 8 am - 8 pm and daylights from around 10 am - 6 pm. That's the schedule I run mine on.

That time frame seems to be most natural to the equator. How many of your corals are from the equator?

i think you can use whatever time frame you want.mine starts and noon and go off at 10. i work nights so i dont get up till around 3. that works for me. i think woking around your schedule is better so you can see the tank more. just as long as you get around 8-10 hours a day.
