question about freshwater dips
If you do one of these, how do you re-acclimate it to SW again? take it out and put it into weak (1.012ish) QT type salinity and bring it up from there? Or go straight from FW to straight reef tank levels?

A dip is a quick dip, and back to regular salt water. The theory is that the parasite won't survive it and your fish will. Never do it with shrimp: it's lethal to them.
It is hard on the fish, and should be done with due research on the tolerance of the species for the treatment. Also, watch it with clowns---if their slime coat is compromised and they're immediately put back into the tank with their anemone, they can be stung to death.
