What pump? basement return

i am setting up my new cube and am looking for something like and Iwaki md-70 but I am not sure if those pumps ar still considered good pressure pumps, I will be returning from the sump in the basement and I need about 1300 gph @ 15ft head.

that was another option, but isn't the gen-x an iwaki knockoff? is it not better to pay the extra $30 for the Iwaki. Or am I missing something. thank for the ideas

I use a Pan World 200 (Roughly an Iwaki 70 equivalent) in my basement sump. I have not calculated my head pressure in a while, but I did put in 1.25 pipe, and kept the 90 degree elbows to a minimum. I also plumbed it through a chiller (Pacific Coast-have to have a LOT of flow) with a bypass for control. I am getting a good 1300 GPH, I believe, if not more. At a guess, I'd say I have at least a 15 foot equivalent head (a good 8-10 foot vertical, 15 foot horizontal, chiller, etc.)

I have another Pan World (Iwaki 55 equivalent) feeding my skimmer, and have also used another 55 equivalent in a previous configuration (I think it is a GenX). None of the pumps have given me any problems (so far!).

I am looking at another reconfig, however, and may go up one step in size to remove another pump feeding my 58G.
