Light pully system help

Im going to lower my lights from 12 to 6 inches for better growth but wanted to do somekind of pully or something so that I can slowly lower them for acclimation and be able to raise them for maintainence. Has anyone done this or something similar, or have any other ideas of how I could do this?

Heres i pic of my homemade canopy/pendant.

I was just thinking of doing the same thing. My tank is somewhat larger than yours though, 120 gal. I mention this because I was thinking of using one of those motors and cable systems that are used to raise and lower chandeliers in houses. Something worth checking out, IMO.

Yea I know, but just push a button and up it goes. same thing coming down. I think my biggest problem will be the wife letting me run cables through ceiling.
