My softie doesn't seem to be doing "good".. any help?

Hi all. I forget what this is:

But it was in good health when I got it. You can see in the above picture, when the lighting is on, it is fully extended with feeders in the water column and doing fine.... It has been fine for over a week, with no problems.

Then, lately, I would say over the past 4 or 5 days, it no longer blooms:

As you can see in the picture, it never expands, and stays in the dome.

I have checked Ph and other important water test, and all seem to be fine. I believe it is getting plenty of light (it is near a 150w Metal Halide bulb, and 2x45 watt Actinic PC lights).

Anyone know what is going on with this? Is it just part of the cycle it goes through, so that I can expect it to return to its normal routing?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I guess these are harder to take care of than I thought. The guy at the LFS said they are pretty hardy.... probably true when you are keeping it in a 500+ gallon system Mine is not soo big. I will try to move it to a lower flow rate area, and perhaps the lightling is too strong (I did not think so initially). Also, I didn't know what to "feed" them (as I thought that the light and natural nutrients in my tank would be enough). I guess I have to figure out what they eat.

Thanks for help,

red
