Help me find Fiji Xenia!!

I am planning my Fijan biotope and starting my xenia colony, well I was until I realized this stuff is hard to find. So far I have only seen it at Live Aquaria in the Diver's Den for $70! After shipping that's $100 for a 1" piece! Who else reputable has this stuff? XeniaMadness maybe you could help me ; )

This is the best picture I could find. It's not opened up but you can see the thick stalk. From what I have been reading it's not very common. It's larger than the other xenias and growns on one fat stalk instead of branching stalks, like a head of broccoli kind of.

Amanda, any local reef clubs down your way? My local reef club gives this stuff away.

Good luck.

Garrett.

I doubt they give the Fiji species away, it is much harder to come by than the Red Sea Variety. It does not split like the Red Sea type.

i have only ever heard of three species of true pulsing xenia. theres the "pink pom pom", elongata, and the "giant bali xenia". i think you are talking about the bali variety, i've never heard it referred to as fiji.

but then again, who knows what it really is. it does fit the description well, mine grows very large, doesn't divide unless cut, and is a more purplish colour than the pom pom.
