Question Frog fish in with a bigger French Angle?

I have a juvenile angle that is over a year and a half old possibly much more.(Still mostly just juvenile colors, but starting to see it’s fin outlines and fading) I could afford it only because it’s pervious owner did not want it anymore since it had gotten in a fight in his tank and well lost one eye. I currently have him in a 20long with little LR and little of anything else in there with him.(this tank is connected to others in a larger system)

I was thinking of setting my 40gallon breeder and connecting this tank to the system. I really can’t afford a whole reef or a full community. I’d rather have a cool species tank. I was thinking of getting a frog fish, but I was wondering if I could keep my angle in with a frog fish. I of course would get the smallest frog fish possible and introduce the angle to the tank so it could settle and know it is it’s territory. Frog fish aren’t aggressive at all are they? Just opportunistic feeders. I figure if my angle is twice the size and with the way it should continue to grow I shouldn’t have a problem. But why experiment when someone else may have already done it.

Please give me your input.

I think you are going to need something much bigger than a 40g for a French Angel.

Sorry I do not know much about frogfish.

I would suggest try asking this question over in the Fish Only & Aggresive Tanks Thread.

I realize this but can't afford, nor fit, a larger tank currently. He'll be fine in a 40 for a while especially one with little LR and tankmates. He's happy as can be in the 20long currently. I was scared his current tank mates would pick on him when I moved him in there, ends up they are all scared of him/her.

Well, according to some online fish charts you are okay. I would go over to the other thread to make sure as I dont have experience with either.
