Can a Frogspawn and a Hammer mix?

Can a softy- frogspawn coral mix with an lps-hammer coral? Will there be chemicle warfare?

Both corals are LPS, actually from the same genus; Euphyllia.

They will be fine in the same tank, sometimes even with direct contact. But, you can keep them from touching if you want to be safe.

Frogspawn is usually a common name for Euphyllia paradivisa which is a stony coral. Hammer is usually Euphyllia parancora, sometimes Euphyllia ancora. Both are stony corals, from the order Scleractinia, and are very closely related.

I think they can touch each other, in fact I think they can hybidize.

mine are touching. I have 2 hammers and 2 different frogspawns touching for a about 6 months now. No damage at all.

Yes, they can very often make direct contact with no ill effects. Hybridization is not done with contact, though.

yes, i have my hammer and frogspawn touching no ill effects either

I agree. My Frogspawn and Hammer are right next to eachother.
No Problems.

Yeah I would like to get a frogspawn. Really cool coral. I guess they both require the same requirements and are about the same price. I got my hammer for $32.50.
