How do you contain algae in an aggressive FOWLR
Anyone have any idea how to maintain algae growth in a tank with lion fish and triggers??

Maintaining it is easy; getting rid of it is the hard part!
![]() Use RO/DI water, place phosphate media (polyfilter, phosban, etc.) in your filter path, don't overfeed, don't leave the light on longer than 10 hours, do regular weekly water changes and buy XL hermit crabs, turbos and tiger cowries. You could also keep herbivores such as foxfaces and tangs. Oh yeah... buy an algae scraper.

No magic answer to a cleanup crew .. often a crap shoot based on what your individual fish eats/ prefers .. a cucumber is normally a safe choice assuming your tanks large enough. Hope this helps. |
