Fire Goby...whered he go?

hey guys. Quick question.

I bought a fire goby saturday night, gave him 3 hours to acclimate. Let him loose in my tank, with 2 blue Chromis and a tomato clown. Yes, i know, trouble. Found that out the hard way (Stupid page said theyre commpatable) problem was the tomato, he decided he owned the tank

So i removed his butt today and put him in a 2.5 gal tank with LR/macro algae and an airstone. Im gonna trade him in for a more peaceful clown

Only thing is, in the midst of catching the tomato, and having to rearrange some LR in doing so, the goby has gone completely missing.

Can these little guys burrow? i cannot find the litttle guy. Hes been eating and all just fine, been a pretty shy little thing. Just curious if he can burrow or if i gotta go on a seek and rescue mission here

thanks in advance!

They are notorious jumpers so look carefully around the tank. Hope he turns up safe and sound.

I would say he is hiding. If you just added him and then shuffled around some rockwork, I bet he is just hiding. When I added my fire gobies, I didn't see 2 of them for a few days. Then one turned up in the overflow and the other one in the sump. They are jumpers. Make sure you have a top on your tank

I lost two in one night. Somehow they jumped through the eggcrate top and onto the floor behind the tank. Both were laying within two inches of each other in the morning.
