Will this work?

At the time I am running 2 pc daylight bulbs over a mixed reef, but I have a 400watt SE halid 14k setting in my closet. I was thinking of buying a spider reflector with the halid and the pcs with two atinic bulbs in my hood. As you can imagin the 2 daylight look horrid but the corals seem to need the light. The hood is only 10" high and it is a acrilic tank. I do have a chiller so water temp should be ok and two 6" fans in the canopy. So hear is the problem, would the halid crack the center brace of the tank from the uv over time? The bulb would need to be right over the center of the tank since it is a 50 gal.
