Question What would you do differently?

Salinity 1.024-6; alkalinity 8.3-9.3 on KH scale; calcium 420; magnesium 1300, temp 78-80, nitrate .2. Ammonia 0. No filters: lps tank. Alk and cal won't rise if mg is low.

Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny,royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%.

I don't think that is an option, but I would pick tank size and lighting. Wish I woulda went bigger right away in both catagories...

Yeah, myself, I wish I'd got the 90 instead of the 52 corner, but then again---I have a bad enough coral habit. With more room I could get dangerous.

I think if I did it again I'd face my sump the right direction...it's backwards.

I would have invested in more expensive, but more efficient and reliable, pumps of all sorts.

I wouldnt use a mag 18 as a return pump for my 120. lots of micro bubbles and REALLY loud

I would have started with nothing less then a 90g tank and any skimmer with a body 5" in diameter or larger.

I didn't have this site available when I first started, so what would I have done differently?
Just about all of it!
If I were to start all over today I'd say read everything I could on this site for about a month or 2 b4 even beginning.
With that, a huge thank you to anyone who's ever given me advice on this awsome site!

gosh..

larger tank
with a skimmer right away
my whole first batch of fish died from ick...
so qting for sure (i do now of course, i learn the hard way)
live sand instead of crushed coral.. darn lfs
yes and no on the first fish choice lol
lighting i dident mind changeing later... waste of money though!!
120 watts pc.. to 250 watts mh

ohoh. I just thought of a good one.

An r/o maker. OR, filling tank the first time with r/o water... I used tap for 5 months *ouch* I had alot of newbie issues lol

Wish I would've bought MH in the first place and went with a sump (also means skimmer choice)

Mh lights, reef ready tank, sump, refugium, and better powerheads such as the tunze or vortechs.

Different water clarifier... I had a bad batch or something and it killed all my LR.
