Lighting for 210?
I am setting up a 210 (72 x 24 x 30) gallon reef tank and I was wondering what type of lighting would be best. The tank will be SPS and I am wondering how many metal halides and of what wattage I would need (also what spectrum). I don't want to get by with the bare minimum, but I also don't need overkill. Lastly, would 2 x 160watt VHO actinic supplements be needed for good coral growth? Or can I just use metal halides?

When I go to a 210 (my next ank) I'm gonna do 3 400 watt MHs and 4 36" t5 HO actinics. You should try for that.
You'll get about 8 WPG and that is lots for SPS. Plus it would look awesome.

I have 2 x 250 halides on my 110, would it be enough light to throw one of those on either side and a 400 in the middle? Or would this be too little light? I am concerned not only with the depth of the tank (30") but also the width (24").
