help identify..sorry no pics

ok, so on one of my rocks, theres this stuff thats growing...its like a bunch of 1/2" spikey things...well sort of...they're really narrow, but they must be rigid, because they arent swaying in the flow..they are black too, and on the ends of them are a TINY (haha, i spelled tiny huge) little circle/oval...one on each spike, so they arent sharp on the end. Also, there is about 20 of them, and they're all growing right next to each other, kinda like how polyps do, ya know? i'm pretty lost on what it even COULD be, so any help would be great.

thanks

dont have a working camera so i cant get them...they look kinda like a little tiny tube on a closer look...and the circles on the end could be like a hole maybe...wouldnt be feather dusters would it? do they normally grow in groups like that?

really? they grow close together like that? i havent seen any dusters come out yet, but that is kinda the shape they are, and they're a little bigger than a couple days ago now. They're right on the shady side of a piece of rock, so my view of them is limited.

Sounds like some type of worm or feather duster.

good? bad?...so far it doesnt do anything so i cant really tell...i guess that would be kinda cool if it were feather dusters (they're not harmfull are they?)...just another one of the freebies from my rock...so far i've got bristleworms, 2 conches (i think) a hermit, a bumblebee snail...and some other stuff but i cant remember.

I have some tubes similar to what you described but they do not grow in bunches. Sometimes a long clear clear filament comes out when they are feeding. Keep an eye on your tank, if nothing bad starts to happen you should be OK.
