freaky lookin pod...hopefully

ok, can someone post a link to a site that has pictures of all or a bunch of different types of pods that can end up in your tank? my attempt at a google of it didnt work...anyways, i just turned on the light in my tank, and this weird lookin bug went running...only it wasnt tiny like all my other pods that i've seen. It was about the size (if not just a tad bigger) than those big red ants. It was kinda silver/off white, and i know it had a bunch of legs, but it ran so fast that i didnt even get that good of a look at it...but if i see a pic of it i'd be able to recognize it. It was kinda chubby lookin too lol.

thanks

Most likely an Amphipod. Harmless detrivore.

thats the one looks just like that. Thanks! and like many other critters, if i've got one, surely i've got more? hopefully, because dont the fish and stuff eat them? and do they multiply fast? Somwhat resently i got a HOB fuge w/live sand and chaeto..theres a fair few of the really small guys, but there was nothin this big...i'm guessing this just grew from that?

if youve got one, youve got more. Fish love em and they will be self sustaining as long as they have somewhere to breed where the fish can get (like a pile of rubble that the fish cant get into or topple)

And let me know if I can answer any questions, over in that thread or in this one.
