Aqua C
It's just not working. The pump is fine. Any ideas why? There is very little flow and no skim mate.

check the injection nozzle, it might be clogged with debris. clean it out with a pipe cleaner.

That's how AquaC's are, very finnicky. Just putting your hands in the tank can cause the foam to collapse for days

It's not new. It is the hang on the back type. I set up a new tank so, I really didn't pay much attention to it. However by now, 8 weeks, it should be working hard. Upon investigation, I found that it was not circulating much water. I figured it needed cleaning, so, I ran some vinegar and water through it for a couple of hours. I changed the pump. However, both pumps seem to be working fine. I changed the tube that connects the skimmer to the pump in desperation. I'm going to find the injector and clean it with a pipe cleaner.

As I said, they are finicky, the foam will collapse very easily. Mine did the same thing a week or two ago to the point where I'd started looking at Deltecs. After a day or two it started working fine again.

Funny I've had mine for two years and it's never done anything even close to what was quoted above. Even with water changes and or adding chems it's never acted like that. |

If its not producing foam, there are 3 possibilities:
1. Not enough flow from the pump (Clean the nozzle) 2. Not enough air getting into the skimmer (Clean the air intake) 3. Not enough protein in the water (Highly unlikely) Good Luck, Dan |
