yeah if you dose calcium, it can really cloud up the tank.

The calcium is a bit high, but not in a dangerous zone. You might be seeing a bacterial or phytoplankton bloom. They aren't that uncommon. A UV unit, if you could borrow one, likely would clear it up in a day or two. Some water changes might speed the process, otherwise.
What about the other water parameters?

I run Carbon Always. Replaced every two weeks. I have two fish - Blue Regal Tang. Royal Gramma I use ALGONE to clear up anthing else. I have a phosphate reactor with Phos-Ban. I have a POLYFILTER in the filter of the wet-dry. I have A large Clump of Cheato and Live Rock - Live sand in Sump. All water parameters are ok. This happened and I pulled out every Salifert Test I have and thats All they make minus Two. Everything seems ok just the weird Cloudiness. I feed the fish every few days. My tank and sump are teaming with pods. I haven't dosed calcium in two weeks since it has been so high. I does some Magnesium the other week and Iodine a few days ago. It just seems odd and my shrooms and zenia don't care for it. I thought of a UV but just doesn't seem needed right now. Many people have tanks without one. This is the first time its happened after it cycled. The tank is 7 months old.

There were several people that told me I was wasting my $$$ on a UV. And they most likely still think that. But I had the same bloom yesterday and I turned mine on for five or six hours and it went crystal clear for me.
I also like to turn it on for 24 hours anytime I add something new to the tank (in addition to my QT). Just makes me feel better. Oh and i picked mine up used with a new bulb for a song. |
