Yes I do... you can see it from my website: http://www.danj.com/reef
Not as nice as that one, but it works well. Dave

Here are 3 websites that show different ways to set up a webcam, from simple to complex.

Never thought about a reef cam. What a great idea. I'm away from my tank several days a week so that would really give me peace of mind. Can you use just any computer web cam?

Depends on how you want to hook it up, where your computer/network is in relationship to your tank.
For me it was easiest to get a wireless model so I didn't have to run cabeling... Dave

That's exactly what I'm looking for, but I have a Mac, so I need something Mac compatible. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There is a Linksys Webcam with a built in server that Best Buy in Canada sells.
I just picked up one this evening, after the first one I bought didn't work. Plan to have it up and running to look at my tank while on a cruise for 2 weeks |

I've been "researching" and I can't find any wireless webcams that are Mac compatible. Maybe that's why I'm asking, does that register? But let me tell you, that's just hilarious, the funniest thing I've heard all day.... Looks like you need to get off the computer IT guy and get out a little more.
You really contributed to the thread with that comment ![]()

I have a wireless D-Link that rotates and zooms. Works great. Definitely gives peace of mind when on the road.

LBCBJ,
I don't know why you couldn't use the one on ebay.... With a built in webserver you don't really need a PC or a MAC... my wireless web cam I could have configured with either... (it has an ethernet jack that I connected to my routher to configure it's wireless capabilities, a quick reboot and I was up and running). Dave

It says it only support Windows in the specs, it may use internet explorer, which Macs don't have anymore

LBCBJ I have a panasonic wireless webcam. I dunno the exact model. It needs to be setup with a windows computer, which you can do either running an emulator or if you've got a newer Mac using bootcamp. After that though, you don't need the windows computer. My router needed to be reset to make it work, I don't exactly know why, but it works great.

I've been shopping around for internet wireless cameras with a built in web server too. How good is the Creative camera listed above?
