Need ID on fish I captured.

Sorry the pics are terrible.



I have no clue as to what this is


Some kind of puffer


Macro algae



This goby has red hair, what kind is it?

It does look like you have a puffer. It could be a honey comb or spotted puffer. Here are a list of some puffers. http://liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=39
Is your tank a reef tank? If so then get that puffer out before he eats all of your corals. As for the goby I am not sure. You could look here for an ID http://liveaquaria.com/product/categ.cfm?pCatId=31

Ever think of using "sports" mode on the camera if you have one so the picture might be in better focus.

I think its a blenny, not a goby. NO This is a FO tank.

toss the blenny, i had one of those, the "red hair" its haped like a mohawk right? yeah, they grow very fast, verocious eaters, and constanlty land on corals, those are the negatives, i didnt like him in my reef, because he was annoying my corals, but hes in my fowlr

Salinity 1.024-6; alkalinity 8.3-9.3 on KH scale; calcium 420; magnesium 1300, temp 78-80, nitrate .2. Ammonia 0. No filters: lps tank. Alk and cal won't rise if mg is low.

Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny,royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%.

I agree. It looks to be a little Cantherhines macroceros, though it is somewhat difficult to tell. The second fish will need a better picture or at least a thorough description.

Where did you 'capture' these fish?

I live here in palm bay ,fl also and when I go shrimping we always see the baby flounder (about the size of a quarter) swimming under the lights..Thats what the first pic looks like to me

#2 is some kind of puffer
#3 is a Molly miller blenny.
