softy not opening
I have a sinularia light tan in color that has not opened up in 4 days. are they prone to certan water peramiters not up to par.
sal 1.024 alk 3.0 cal 400 ph 8.0 the rest i have not checked yet today. thanks for any info on this coral!

it would help to know nh4, no3,no2,phos levels as they can generally have quite the effect on the corals as well.

Leathers do such things. They may close for a week or sometimes maybe more, for no good reason, then recover to their full glory. Often, they will close up when they are shedding their surface layer of mucus when they grow. Do you see sheets of clear (or brown if cyano gets in it) "skin"-looking stuff hanging off it? If so, your coral is growing...just keep a decent flow on it to keep the cyano from building up in the mucus, and to help the coral shed it more effectively.
