Help! Sixline jumped out of the tank!

So just moments ago, I heard a splash from my tank. I've had this sixline for almost a year with no problems.

I think, oh no something may have jumped out of the tank. I look and behind my sump on the carpet is the sixline, covered in dust, and his fins are all flared out.

I try to grab him 3 times, and it keeps slipping out of my hands and onto the carpet with MORE dust.

finally I get him and throw him into the main tank, he sinks down to the rocks. He's laying there, covered in dust, and he's breathing heavily and upside down.

Do I leave him like this? and hope he recovers? Cleaner shrimp are cleaning gunk off of him, and they don't appear to be eating him... yet

I don't have a quarantine and I will be out all day tomorrow. WHAT DO I DO?! just leave him like this?

any chance he will make it? Help me this is so sad.

Well, since he is in there already, I'd just leave him there... stressing him out more won't help. He should be ok if he wasn't out long.

I had a sixline and he disapeared and after looking in the tank for him for a few days I figured he had gone behind the rockwork and died, and his body was eaten. well this weekend (a year after his diaspearance) I changed my 55 reef to a 90 reef. When I finally pulled the tank out from the wall there behind everything was a perfectly petrified six line. I was somewhat sad, but at least now I know where he went. I love sixlines, and hate knowing they have a problem with bailing ship, because I don't want to use a glass top. I will just have to admire others I suppose

I had a six line that was fine in my tank for 7 months and then one day he jumped. I found him dried on the floor.

I think I saw him swimming behind the rocks this morning. Lights haven't come on and won't until about 4pm, hopefully he'll be ok. He looks better I believe.

I swear I thought I was tossing a dead fish into the tank when he first plopped back into the water motionless.

I've put an acrylic cover over the top, but I'd like to keep my tank open canopy. Is there a reason he jumped out? or are they just prone to doing so?

will update when I get out of work and hopefully he'll be fine. Fingers crossed.

well I just took a peak into the tank here at lunch, and the sixline looks GREAT! Swimming around very normal and healthy.

WHEW what a scare.

Do I leave the acrylic hood on or off now?!
