Coraline turning white

I stated my 55g reef about 5 months ago. Coraline is growing, but it seems to be turning white after a while? Any info appreciated.

have you checked your ca level?

No, I don't have a test kit for that.

Most likely your CA levels are dropping. Are you doing regular water changes and/or adding any kind of CA supplements? Kalk would help but water changes will be safer since you don't have a test kit. Your best bet would be to get a CA test kit and then start testing and kalk to replenish the CA. HTH
