Sorry if this question has been asked before.. I have done a search and cant find it if it has and I am going blind reading the GregT's montser Tread/ threads on all the CSS's out there. Can some one list out the successful mods they have done to there 220 to improve its performance. If you have pictures.. all the better

Thanks so much RonD

just want to add something here, every one i spoke with regarding this skimmer told me to make sure the return is above water line, after a week i got tired of the noise and plumbed the standard pvc mod but i made my return a few inches under water, now my skimmer produces much more darker skim and the backpressure is nonsence as far as i am concerned i have been runing the skimmer with the return submerged for about 8 months and could not be happier..worked well for me

While I have been hatching some brine shrimp I have had my air pump hooked up near my sump .. I hooked up the other free nozzle from the air pump to the CSS's silencer and blew air into the skimmers pump ... I will say I am now getting more bubbles than I ever had before... my CSS is working better all the time.

Use a 1" gate valve. Pull out the exit tubing along with the coupler with the vent on it, open the big red valve all the way open and put in yor 1" gate valve with 1" pvc

anyone ever think of connecting the Eheim surface skimmer attachment to one of these?

I made a DIY surface skimmer by putting a pvc tube thru a water bottle, thru the cap and cutting the bottle in half and slotting the edges but I havent tried it because I didnt know what size tubing to get to connect to the pump.

Also, I previously owned the remora pro w/ mag 3 surface skimmer/bubble box I'm pretty sure the mag3 size box WILL fit on a SS 125 at least not sure about the 220 --anyone try this yet?
