Refractometer?

This may difficult to explain but I'll do my best. When looking into my meter it is 2 scales. on the left is a D20/20 and a scale from 1.000 to 1.070. on the right is 0/00 and a scale from 0 to 100.

per instructions, when calibrating I use 2 drops of distilled water. then it says make light/dark boundary coincide with water line with correction screw.
This may sound stupid but do I adjust it where the water line takes up the whole viewing area or do I make the water line equal to the bottom of the scales?

Does that make sense? I need help.

Sorry, I have no pictures.

The line should hit the 1.000 and zero lines on the scale. The first scale is probably SG; the second is likely salinity ppt.

The adjustment for the eye piece part is to adjust the lens so that you can see the scale better/focus on it.

There should be a hole where there is a screw, phillips or flat... I think mine is a flat head screw. Use that to adjust the line that you see in the eye piece area. Use distilled water or RO/DI water and just set it at 1.000 or 00.
