I think he likes getting his picture taken... Where ever I aimed the camera he would swim in from and spread his fins.

First Tank to go in the year 2000 - took 3.5 months to construct
Then I decided to downsize and go for a different design, So I sold everything off and started the demolition of this system. After a couple of years of deciding what size and design I wanted I started on the 120 gallon project. - Total construction duration 2 months Just when I was ready to add water to the system, I started getting second thoughts.... I was starting realize that I am going to miss the larger tank.... I conviced myself to go bigger. Within a week, I contacted the LFS I purchased the tank to let them know how my plans have changed, within the next week they came out to take back the tank and apply the credit to the larger one. Total construction duration 1.5 months. Last edited by BJJ; 07/24/2006 at 04:43 PM. |

Thanks... The first was a nice setup, but It was just a little too large for the room. I always felt that it made the room look too cluttered. Also I really wanted to go with stone to give more contrast.

The brick is awesome in the stand and canopy. I love it. It gives me ideas that I'm sure my wife will not like. Just kidding. Very nice job. Like the aquascaping also.

Both of those are sweet. How do you like having the sump/fuge in the basement. I/m thinking of doing the same thing. Did you drill thru your floor?

I perfer to have all equipment in the basement. It make it easier to work on. If you spill, how cares, its a concrete floor. With the sump in the basement and a little help from central AC, my tank temp has maxed out at 72.9F without the use of a chiller. And thats during 35C (95F) days.

What maintenance schedule do you have for the display tank. Tank including the sand looks very clean.

2. 15% water change every 3-4 weeks 3. Dose Aragamilk once every few weeks. With skimmer off 4. Add Reef Complete couple of days with skimmer off 5. Add Reef Roids phyto every week or so with skimmer off 5. Test as required - usually when I notice a change in algea, corals ect. 6. Feeding usually once a day and occasionaly skip a day each week. 7. Have not needed to use the UV yet - Not sure why I installed one either. |

Very nice. Obviously another well thought out system. I particularly like the stone.

I have to say that I really like your original design best. The new TV is much better than the original however.

I just can't get over how clean it looks - very well done. I like the stone and I love how it looks in the room. With all the maintenance in the basement, I'll bet it is really quiet too. wow!
I would love to see a closer full-tank shot - to get a better idea of how you've hidden your plumbing to manage water flow. How do you keep your sand so clean? jayo |
