lighting

I am in the market for new lighting for my recently started 40g breeder tank. Its been up for about 2 weeks now and i havent got lighting yet. I get Aquarium Fish Magazine and I saw an add in there for a company called aquatraders.com. This company states they have an oddyssea MH hood with 1x175HQI 2x65 pc actinic led night lights external ballasts and cooling fans for $179.99 also up to 90 gal protein skimmer for 25$ with pump are these prices bogus??? are they refurbs maybe???? has anyone ever heard of this company because honestly id love to buy these lights ive always had reef but could never afford MH and this would really make my day so if anyone has info that would be awesome.

AquaTraders has nothing but bad feedback and horrible customer service. Pretty much all sales are final type of thing. I recommend getting your lights at Hellolights. Low prices, good feedback, and good customer service.

plus dont get the oddysea brand either...horible reputation...they're also called jebo i believe...if not, they equally suck lol

def. go to hellolights. plus they always have like, 4th of july sales wehre all bulbs are 10 bucks (pc bulbs anywyas) so you can just stock up on those right then if you get pc's. i'm sure they have mh sales too...but i dont have mh so i dont worry bout them

anyone else have any feedback on this company???? I know cutting corners is not the best way to go but for the price i mean 179 is a lot better then 400- for something comparable through hellolights.com. But I have been in this reef business long enough to know if everyone says dont do it then i wont.

thanks guys

look on here in the selling forum. people sell their lights all the time..prolly the most sold thng on here lol. If not there, try looking in your local club forum..ask there

the odysea/jebo brand has been known to work fine for a few months, and mysteriously stop working...bad balast i beilieve. I'm getting a 60 inch one from a guy by me for free. One of the wires to the bulbs melted, which is why its free...if i had to pay, i wouldnt take it but ya....dont cut corners...at least not that corner lol.

Cutting corning in this hobby isnt a good idea. I do belive someone bought a light from Aquatraders and it ended up catching fire.

I have heard many horror stories with Jebo/Odyysea when it comes to the MH fixtures. I have heard of broken bulbs, actinics that weren't actinic but just regular bulbs painted blue, crummy cunstruction and ballasts catching fire. Its not worth the risk, IMO. I have heard a few success stories with the PC fixtures, but hardly enough to warrent a purchase from them. The customer service is also bad. I tried to call them and ask some questions and I kept getting answers that danced around my actual question. They also didn't seem very knowledgable at all.
