Question for people with Chillers

1. During the cold season, do you unplug your chiller and the chiller pump, or do you just leave it running?

2. What happens when detritus, etc. accumulate inside your chiller? Does it affect the thermostat? How do you clean it?

3. Lastly, how long have you had your chiller and what brand is it?

thanks

1. My chiller has heater controll as well, so I plug my heaters in to it and it continues to run all winter.

2. I try to remove chiller from system a couple times a year to clean and oil fan, so at this time I just dump the water out.

3. I have a PCI 1/6th hp, I have had very good luck. I did have a fan start to sieze which was my fault by not doing proper maintenance, but PCI replaced the fan for me. They had great Customer Service..
Hope this helps

1) there really is no "cold season"...the lights over my tank is the reason I have a chiller.

2) I "try" and run vinegar through it once a year.

3) 5 years on this 1\3 hp Aqua Logics Delta Star.
