Can I QT this
Well i know that some fish like a mandarin you are not supposed to QT but can I QT a Yasha goby and a black clown goby. Also do these fish normaly get sick I know some fish like tangs are prone to Ick are these fish. Thanks Puffer21.

I have no idea, but the only reason I can think of for not quarantining something is if it does not readily eat food preparations. like how mandarins usually don't eat flaked food, and their primary foon source are pods which they hunt for, and may not be alive in the QY tank. Another reason mandarins usually aren't QT's is because they are almost ick resistant because they have a layer of mucus surrounding them.
Ask the people at the LFS if that particular fish eats food preparations, and if possible, get them to show you him eating before you decide to put him n a qt tank or not

Puffer21, always quarantine, no matter how healthy the fish looks at the lfs. It can look healthy and then three weeks later come down with something that will infect your whole tank.
A QT tends to be a pain to maintain but it really is worth it. The recommended QT is for 5-6 weeks. |

I had my Yasha in my QT before I put it in my main tank. It eats finely chopped meaty foods.
Here it is after I added it to my Display tank:
