Thoughts on 24 hour fuge lighting

I've recently setup a sump/fuge for my 75 and was wondering peoples' thoughts about lighting the fuge. I understand the principles behind reverse lighting but what about 24 hour lighting? Chaeto is the macro in the fuge.

Ecosystem's sumps employ 24 hour lighting, but they recommend it for Caulerpa to keep it from releasing nitrates. Think you'd be fine with the reverse lighting for Chaetomorpha to keep balanced pH levels.

I'm trying something different myself. 8 on 4 off 8 on 4 off. Trying to speed the daylight cycle of the plant. I admit my tank is pretty new and lightly stocked so my overnight ph drops are not very low. We will see how it goes, but after a month growth is impressive and the plant looks really healthy. Chaeto is the only macro in there right now but I am planning on adding graciliaria, ulva and caulerpa paspaloides as the stocking gets heavier on the tank. I don't know if I'll have the guts to keep this lighting schedule when the caulerpa goes in.

I run my fuge lighting 24/7 Helps with the PH with the house all closed up. Might switch back to reverse when this heat wave lets up.

Thanks for the replies.

mg426, what macros are you keeping in the fuge and do and have you noticed any benefits, or cons, with the 24/7 lighting?

I'm just lighting my chaeto on the reverse lighting schedule from my main tank.
