new corals to buy
hey there, well i was looking for some softies to put in my 40 gal. tank and was wondering what would b the easiest species to keep. i have 2 36" actinic lights in there just now so mabye a lower light specimen?

hmmm, i dont know how well they will do under just actinic lights. If your going to try something i would try something that is cheap and from deeper water. Colt coral maybe. I'd look into changing one of those to 10k.

I wouldn't get anything until you get something in a more useful color temperature. 20,000 Kelvin at least. Then from there, things should be a lot easier to keep. Also, are these Power Compacts, T12 VHOs, T5 HO, etc?

I would change one of those actinics to a 10K bulb. You need the right balance of light. If you do that, then I would recommend the following: mushrooms, zoos, leathers, star polyps, and colts. You might have to vary the locations but they would do fine...that's I had my first tank.
