Kalk paste -- next step?
After having used vinegar sucessfully in the past to kill off aiptasia and other pest anemones, I decided to give kalk paste a try. My thinking is that vinegar isn't adding anything potentially useful to my tank (maybe I'm wrong?), but kalk paste would in terms of a little bit of calcium and will help with maintaining pH, even if it's a only a tiny bit. So, it seemed like it was at least worth a shot.
I mixed up about 20 mL of it to kill a couple aiptasia and some hair algae. No problems mixing or applying the paste, but how long before the piles of white paste dissolve away? Can I vacuum them out when I do my next water change or should I just leave them alone? |

With proper flow they should dissolve in a day or two (or less)
