How often should I be changing the UV lamp on my sterilizer?

I've been running my UV sterilizer since last August. Should I be changing the lamp once a year? How often do you change your lamp if you use a UV sterilizer?

Phil

if I recall recorrectly, there will be a few variables that will affect when you change the uv light bulb, such as the wattage and how long is on,

I've been using a 9 watt UV lamp 24/7 since last August.

if you have it run on alot slower flow rate, you could get away with chaninging annually np.

I'm running a Cap 200 pump on it. The instructions say the UV bulb can last 8,000 hours which is 333 1/3 days. I've been running the lamp for longer than that; almost 768 hours longer. Like I said earlier in the thread, I run the lamp 24/7. I ordered a new lamp just in case. The lamp is a 9 watt lamp.
