QT Question

ok i have a 10gal tank that i aquired that i want to make into a qt.

i have a few questions...
1. first i have a wetdry that has about a 10gal sump in it...can i use that or is it to large?

2. also i am going to use a over the back overflow...whats the best to get the water back to the sump to the tank? can i use a power head or do i need to go get a pump...if so what size.

3. what can i use as pluming for the return line..i plan on using clear tubing but can i use PVC and whats the best way to set it up?

4. can i use some of the "old" water out of my main tank that has cycled or do i need to start over and add "new" water?

5. can i use large pvc pipes in the bottom of the tank for the fish to hide?
6. do i need to put any LR or sand in the tank?
7. do i need to put a cleaning crew in there?

i know thats lots of questions...thanks for your help.

1. Personbally i would go with just a sump, or hang on back filter for a qt tank. Sump can never be too big

2. Low gph rated return pump or powerhead should work if set up correctly

3. I use pvc, then i dont have to worry about kinks in flex hose

4. You can use some of your tank water, if you have any filter floss or sponges you could use them also

5. Yes Pvc makes excellent hiding places

6. No LR

7. Depends... Right now my QT is not being used but it is still running. I have some snails to keep it clean. If you have a fish in QT needed treatment such as hypo or copper then you cant have a cleanup crew, they will die.
