Forgot to Rinse Substrate

I did not rinse the 80 pounds of substrate before i put it into my tank. Will this be ok? I havent even put salt in the water yet so will my filtration eventually clean it all up?

Are you using sand? Its not a problem, it may actually be better. It will take awhile for everything to settle, but the larger number of very fine particles you have gives bacteria more surface area to grow.

It will be fine. It may take a few days for it to clear up. If you have a HOB filter just put some polyfill in it and it will clear up quick.

DUH of course the water will be cloudy!

Wait for a few days and try to run foam in the filter, clean the foam twice a day untill the cloudy water dissapears

Good Luck !
