badly damaged fish, in a bowl?

Came home and my majestic angel was a goner, or so I thought. He was bleached out in a couple of areas, breathing a bit hard and his eyes were very black......thought he had come down with something. I took him out and placed in a bowl - his fins were in rough shape too. The more I looked, the spots don't appear to be disease but rather where he was maybe picked on......anyway he's in a bowl at the moment, swimming vertical and eating. I'm circulating the water - I don't have anywhere else to put him at the moment - will he be okay in there for a day or so?

If you have a bucket move him in to that (more water volume). Also expect to do regular water changes (daily) with the tank water. I would drain the water from the bowl and toss it, don't put it back into the tank. Also, make sure the temperature is stable!
